Yes that is an extra step but the new server has the same name and IP as the existing one. I will copy from the old server to the USB drive, and then from the USB drive to the new server. I want to copy just the new data to the new server when we are ready to swap. It took about 4.5 hours to do the copy from server to USB drive. So I had to go and add the users and Permissions to the Folders. I know there are switches to copy the Permissions, or only the Permissions but I did not use that. Robocopy E:\ d:\ /MIR /FFT /Z /XA:H /W:5 //log:c:\MirrorD_user.log /TEEĮ is the USB drive copy to D on new server. Robocopy D:\ F:\ /mir /r:2 /w:1 /zb /log:c:\MirrorD_user.log /TEEĭ is the data drive on the server and F the USB drive Old Server is 2008 R2, new 2019 Standard.
